Prep is the first year of primary school.  It is a full-time program and children attend from Monday to Friday during normal school hours.

Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they start Prep.  To determine when your child can commence their preparatory year at Feluga State School, use the online calculator.

At Feluga State School, Prep students, although they have a dedicated full-time teacher-aide, are part of the Early Education Centre (EEC) and mix in that room with Years 1, 2 and 3 students.

In the school grounds at play-time, they mix with students from all year levels at the school.

Prep at Feluga provides the foundation for your child's success at school by developing:

  • a positive approach to learning
  • independence and confidence
  • thinking and problem-solving skills
  • language skills
  • early literacy and numeracy
  • physical abilities, including gross and fine motor skills
